CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 UPDATE 24TH MARCH 2020 (UPDATED)
CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 UPDATE 24th March 2020 (updated).
With the announcement by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern that New Zealand is moving to Level 4 of the COVID-19 Alert System, we wanted to let you know what we are working on for you.
What a Level 4 Alert Means for your Habit Health & Fitness Club
Level 4 of the COVID 19 Alert System is the highest level and its focus is to eliminate opportunities for transmission of the COVID-19 virus. In line with this, at close of business on the 23rd March 2020, our Fitness centres closed their doors for 4 weeks.
Our focus right now is to look after our staff, our members and the wider community. Over the next few days we’ll be working to roll out options for:
- On-demand or Live Group Fitness Classes.
- Online seminars from guest speakers on mindfulness, meditation, resilience, nutrition and many other topics that we are sure you will find beneficial.
- Our Personal Trainers will be available to continue PT sessions and deliver special home training advice for our members via video conferencing.
- If you are a current physiotherapy or rehabilitation client, you will need to continue your supervised exercises. In these cases, we will organise ongoing consultations/supervised exercise over telehealth/videoconferencing using existing technology. If you have an existing appointment, your physio will contact you.
Your Health and Fitness Goals are Important, even while at Home
We want to assure you that we continue to function with your best interests at heart. Exercise provides you with myriad benefits, supported by ongoing evidence. We encourage everyone to continue with physical exercise as it is a key component in maintaining good health, strengthening immunity and lowering stress - all which are vital at this moment.
During this time, we ask that you make preparations for yourselves and your loved ones for the next four weeks. We will keep you up-to-date on all of the new options we’ll be introducing for you. Keep an eye on our website, Facebook page and Instagram feed for these updates.

Our clubs are now closed. Please be assured, your belongings will be kept secure.

We will be working with our Personal Trainer team to deliver training options for all members with a Personal Trainer while our clubs are closed. Stay tuned.
