Get moving for charity
Kicking off this March, Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) New Zealand are calling on Kiwis to grab their sneakers and get moving for a good cause by signing up to House to House - a month-long fundraising event which gives you the chance to get active while supporting families of unwell children.
Run, walk, cycle or swim at least 210km, which is the average distance a family travels from their home in a month to a Ronald McDonald House. By matching every kilometre to a $1 donation, RMHC® New Zealand will be able to give a night’s accommodation to a family when they need it most.
Providing families a “home-away-from-home”, RMHC New Zealand offers a safe haven for families to retreat to after facing the clinical world of medicine. Every year, they provide over 4,600 Kiwis across New Zealand support and accommodation free of charge.
Get involved and help RMHC New Zealand reach their target of $210,000 for families in need. If you prefer to do the challenge indoors, sign up to our spin classes or hit the treadmill or bike at a Habit club.
You can sign up as part of the Team Habit and encourage friends and family to participate too, or you can make a donation. To keep track of your KMs, use a FitBit, download the free Strava or MapMyFitness apps, and your distance moved will be automatically updated on your fundraising page. Alternatively, you can log your distances manually.
So, get moving! And help give families with a hospitalised child what they need most – each other.
