Habit Physiotherapists are trained in the most up to date and practical workplace health initiatives. We will work with you to develop or fine tune your existing workplace health plan to achieve your company health strategy and provide the specific solutions you need.

The following services are available for companies of all sizes in the Auckland and Wellington region:

> Pre-Screening Initiatives

This involves the assessment of a potential employee’s ability to perform their role (Functional Capacity Assessment). This is often used by companies to determine the suitability of a potential employee to a demanding role or when an employer is concerned about an employee’s ability to meet the requirements of a role due to previous injury/limitation.

> Preventative Strategies

Employee education is essential to specifically reduce the likelihood of workplace injury. Our education programme is delivered in line with ACC’s new focus on discomfort, pain and injury (DPI) to reduce workplace claims. Many companies perform this as part of their yearly health and safety audit (HR team).

> Early Intervention Strategies

Early reporting and intervention can prevent discomfort developing into pain or injury. Many companies are now recognising the long term cost saving involved with such a strategy and have developed an early intervention strategy in conjunction with Habit to provide improved management of discomfort in the workplace.

> Stay at Work Strategies

Managing/changing workloads and work strategies may be required to allow employees to stay at work during the recovery process, thereby preventing a complete loss of productivity. Our team will work with you to deliver a structure that will work for you as an employer while achieving the recovery goals of the injured employee.

> Personal Assessment and Appropriate Treatment

Habit has a team of highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists who will provide prompt and accurate assessment and treatment of any condition. As an ACC contracted provider Habit has met the stringent requirements of the Physiotherapy Accreditation Scheme. As a result we receive additional funding from ACC reducing the co-payment required for standard treatment sessions to just $20. We are also a registered provider with all private insurance companies such as Southern Cross, WorkAon and WellNZ.

• Development of a workplace early intervention programme.
• Basic workplace set up training for HR staff or team leaders including workstation setup specific to the individual employee’s role, common workplace complaints/injuries and how to best manage this presentation with adjustments to set up, work habits and preventative desk based exercise.
• We can offer comprehensive onsite workstation evaluation as required. A free email advice service is provided for managers/team leaders to seek advice prior to any referral.
